Patient Care Advocate

Equiscript, LLC is seeking a professional who is passionate about providing excellent patient care to join our team as a Patient Care Advocate.

The Patient Care Advocate will work under the supervision of the Patient Experience Manager to provide exemplary service to patients who have enrolled in our home delivery pharmacy program.

The successful candidate for this position will handle customer service inquiries from members, providers, physicians and internal and external clients related to medication fills and pharmacy benefits. This position will require you to work to research and resolve problems in a timely manner, use computerized systems to gather information and respond to questions, and document issues and resolutions in a common database.

Essential Functions:

  • Handle inbound and outbound member, provider and physician calls. Answer questions related to pharmacy benefits, while maintaining productivity standards and performance guarantees where applicable.
  • Work with other operational departments to research and resolve mail order and claims issues and respond to members within performance agreement guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all inquiries in order to continuously improve the customer service process and reduce potential legal concerns.
  • Identify and escalate in a prudent manner, concerns received from patients and/or clients so that corrective action can be pursued and expedited to take care of their needs.
  • Contact patients on Lost and At Risk lists, to resolve patients’ concerns and try to re-enroll them in the program.
  • Contact patients after they have received their first shipment to ensure that they had a good experience, and that their expectations were met. Address any issues that are raised on these calls.
  • Communicate filling and shipping instructions to partner pharmacies using Equiscript workflows, often in ( experience helpful, but not required).
  • Responsible for good housekeeping techniques, adhering to quality and production standards while complying with all applicable company, state and federal safety.
  • Other duties as needed.

Professional Qualities:

Account Development Representative

Equiscript is seeking a results-driven Account Development Representative to develop and win new business in our Client Sales department.  Our Account Development Representatives prospect, negotiate, and close corporate agreements with our hospital and health center partners.  

The successful candidate for this position will be a professional salesperson with experience selling to C-level executives and knowledge of the healthcare industry.  This is an inside sales position with limited (10-20%) travel.  

Leads for our client sales department come from registrations in the 340B program, so you will be calling on qualified entities, though your initial contact will be predominantly through cold calls, following up on marketing materials, or meeting at industry events and trade shows.

We are looking for a hunter who can start with a large list of prospects and strategically develop a pipeline of potential business that results in new signed agreements and the implementation of new clients.  You must be outgoing, confident, upbeat and strategic.

Essential Functions

  • Initiate contact with new leads.
  • Spend a good portion of your time prospecting and initiating contact via phone and email.

Performance Metrics

Operations Manager (Pharmacy)

The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding, documenting, measuring and improving company workflow and processes to maximize company efficiency and performance.

We are looking for an individual who is excited to fit in with our positive company culture and enjoys the challenges of working with a young, rapidly growing company.

Equiscript mines EMR data and identifies high-need, high-risk patients that may benefit from a home delivery pharmacy program. Equiscript then contacts the patients, and if the patient chooses, enrolls the patient with one of several different home delivery pharmacies. In most instances Equiscript is also responsible for making all refill calls to patients. The Operations Manager will be responsible for working with internal department heads to ensure that Equiscript’s operations are efficient for our clients, our staff and the patients we serve.


  • Become familiar with all current processes and procedures of employees and relevant processes and procedures of pharmacy partners, whether documented or not
  • Organize existing documentation surrounding workflows and processes, determine gaps, and prepare missing documentation for a complete set of standard operating procedures
  • Develop and improve upon measurements of performance and efficiency and a plan for continual improvement of operational efficiencies.
  • Drive initiatives in the management team and organizationally that contribute to long-term operational excellence

Program Efficiency Assistant (Pharmacy)

The Program Efficiency Assistant will work under the supervision of the Program Efficiency Specialist to provide support for patients who have newly enrolled in our program.  You will be responsible for collaborating with our sales team, health care provider clients, and our partner pharmacies to ensure patients’ prescriptions are filled in a timely manner and that patient service expectations are exceeded.  This involves monitoring patients’ progress, communicating with the parties involved, and keeping patients informed of updates.

The Program Efficiency Assistant will play an important role in building our programmatic efficiencies and in building relationships with our patients.

This position involves working with patients over the phone.  You must be focused, personable, detail oriented, and strategic.  You must be passionate about providing excellent patient care.

Key activities include:

  • Monitoring outstanding patients to ensure that their prescriptions are processed, filled, and delivered prior to need-by dates
  • Communicating updates and program expectations to patients
  • Helping patients understand the importance of medication adherence, and noting patients who aren’t adherent, so that we can notify their medical team
  • Providing exemplary patient service and care
  • Working as part of a team to achieve company goals
  • Working with (Salesforce experience helpful, but not required)
  • Working with the Program Efficiency Specialist to ensure that all prescription requests have been sent to our pharmacies in a timely manner, tracking those that have not and removing process barriers.
  • Addressing client concerns, problem solving, and process improvement initiatives
  • Providing clear, timely patient support so that we can enroll patients and keep them happy
